Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen ReadyLift Torsion Key PDF Installation Instructions

Please read instructions thoroughly and completely before beginning installation. Following is steps for installation of ReadyLift (Part#66-1080) Torsion Key that can be applied to Dodge Durango 2WD/4WD and Chrysler Aspen 2WD/4WD. Be carefully when installing this part since the installation requires trained mechanic (recommended).

Step 1: Prior to lifting the vehicle it is recommended that you measure the stock height so that you have a base line measurement. Measure fro m
the bottom of the wheel to the lip of the fender, as in Insert A. Position vehicle on a flat surface and lift vehicle by the frame so that the front wheels are off the ground. Use a floor jack and jack stands or a (2) two post lift if available. Next, locate the torsion key at the rear of the torsion bar under the cab of the vehicle. (Insert B)

Lift straight up on the front of engine beauty cover, pull it towards you, and set it aside.

MANIFOLD VACUUM CHECK
1. Before inspection, set the vehicle in the following condition. Engine coolant temperature: 80 – 95°C (176 – 203°F). Lights, and all accessories: OFF. Transaxle: Neutral (P range on vehicles with A/T)
2. Connect a tachometer.
3. Attach a tee-fitting union to the vacuum hose between the fuel pressure regulator and the intake manifold plenum, and connect a vacuum gauge.
4. Start the engine and check that idle speed is within specification. Then check the vacuum gauge reading.

StowMaster 5000 Towing Bar Installations and Instructions PDF Manual

1. First, install the ‘quick-disconnects’ (“QDs”) to the tow bar bracket, as described on the preceding page.
2. Next, attach the tow bar to the driver side and passenger side QDs — lower the tow bar over both QDs so that the vertical pins (Figure 2) extend upward through the top holes of the QD bases (Figure 2). At the same time, make certain that the lower vertical pins of each QD base slide through the lower holes on both QDs (Figure 2).
3. The two linch pins (Figure 2 and 4) must be inserted through the upper holes in the vertical pins in both QDs. Both linch pins must be locked. The rings (Figure 4) are spring-loaded — they must be snapped over the linch pin, as shown in Figure 4, with the curved side of the linch pin touching the ring (as shown in Figure 5), in order to keep the QD bases secure.

Tools needed: Large flat head screwdriver (or equiv) to pry-up the foam rubber backed carpet engine covering. Torx T-30 driver to remove the engine cover bolts. 7 mm socket for all the hose clamps (note: most of the clamps have hex heads with cross groves for a Philips driver, but the ones on the MAF senor only have a slotted grove – use the socket instead of drivers). 8 mm socket for the (E10) bolts that secure the throttle body to the plenum, for the oil filler tube bracket, and the stock plenum hold-down nut. Pliers or channel lock pliers for the steel squeeze-type clamp on the plenum vacuum line.
